Yesterday

(Things seem safe enough to go to bed, but who knows if I'll have power in the morning. Here is that photo post I was working on when little kid pooped on the porch this morning. I'm taking my headache to bed and hoping things are calm by morning.)

We decided to go to the beach!

It was such a beautiful day out. When we got there it was completely quiet (but not for long). There were no waves and the water was crystal clear. I could sit and watch Snook swim by Big Kid as he waded in the shallow end.

I sat and watched this bird catch several fish to eat.

and the bird and I watched this guy snorkle.

and little kid watched the bird. I believe I have previously mentioned his complete bird OBSESSION.

and he soon figured out how to attract more birds.

It worked. Really well.

There was no bird attack, but I was ready for one (to photograph).

I also found these two shells sitting next to each other, just like this. I just thought that was interesting, that they ended up like that:

I also saw this flag just randomly stuck into an empty stretch of sand, which was neat:

Now I'm going to bed to hope that the police don't end up pounding on my door before morning.

(because that's never good!)

  1. Ah, that beach looks marvelous! I am having beach withdrawal - hubby and I are landlocked here in Indiana - sigh. :(

  2. I hope that y'all are okay. I have to admit that fire is definitely in my Top 10 list of The Scariest Things Ever.

I'll be thinking of y'all, and sending you some of our cool(er), wet(ter) weather your way.

  4. You live in paradise. I'm glad everyone is ok this morning- I checked in first thing.

I hope the fires stay contained. The post below about the horses and pets makes my heart hurt really bad.

    Love,
    Holly

  6. I so envy the proximity to gorgeous beaches! Is that the beach where we had our beach picnic last summer? I'm hoping for a repeat in November. :)

PS I've been trying to find you on IM but you're not responding to me - you'd better not be ignoring me on purpose. :)

  8. Renee, my messenger has been down. I've missed you like crazy!!!!! I hate that you're vacationing elsewhere this summer. This is a different beach, but the one we'll be at in November because it's my favorite now.

Mitch, did you say you live in SW Florida?

Thanks for all of the "no fire" thoughts everyone.

Don't tell the non-commenters, but I secretly hate them.

(kidding, kidding, I don't hate all of them. The shy ones are okay. The lazy ones suck though.)
