Neatnik Saucer

Okay, I know you all love free stuff. Moms of babies, line up, I've got a good one.

It's called the Neatnik Saucer and it fits into a restaurant highchair and keeps the surrounding area safe from falling food. It's made from an easy to wipe oil cloth and the best way I can describe it is like one of those sunshades for cars that you unfold and pop open? They're round? That's probably not the best description, but at least some of you will catch my drift.

Anyway, it protects your kid from the germy chair and protects the floor from your kid's crumbs. I really, really wish I had gotten this while little kid still sat in a high chair (he's a booster seat boy out at restaurants now) because this would have been a godsend. You'll probably find this hard to believe, but he was a food thrower/dropper back in his day. I know, I know, it's a shocker.

It is cleverly constructed and fits into a diaper bag sized oilcloth envelope that even has a pocket on the front for storage. Take my word for it, it's pretty cool.

So leave a comment with your first name and I'll use a random number generator to choose one of you and then eventually I'll mail the Neatnik Saucer to our winner.

Sorry, non baby havers--maybe we'll have something for you next time.

ETA: I'll announce the winner tomorrow--so have your names in by the time I wake up Tuesday if you want in the contest.

  9. Oh, that is SO COOL! I could probably use it for Katie, since she still uses the highchair. Then again, my BFF is preggers, and she would probably really like it, too.

  16. I would love one of those! I just read an article that restaurant high chairs carry up to 12,000 different kinds of bacteria on them.

If you pick me you could help me save some serious $$ on Clorox wipes!!

  18. My sister is pregnant and I would LOVE to give this to her. We were both servers and towards the end of my time doing it, I saw a couple of the Neatnik Saucers and I LOVED them! They were always accompanied by parents who actually cared about how their children were acting, in addition to caring about not making a mess.

  26. Sweet find Ashley! I could really use this in my home.

If not for my messy toddler, I could totally find a way to put it around DH while he eats. Can't take the man anywhere!

  27. If you land on my number, take me out of the race and redo it -- I'm taking me out of the running. BUT -- really? lk sits in a booster? Chay is nuts! He will not sit still unless he's strapped in a high chair. Yes, he looks a little wierd. He looks 3 with a 2 yr old mind strapped in a babyseat. But its necessary. Otherwise he'll run out and jump straight into that rock fountain with no railings.

We were at a restaurant today with a fountain just like the one I described above and I had very bad visions of one Mr. Chay hopping right in there... Sorry. Now I'm rambling ;)

  28. Sounds pretty sweet. Now, can you find a size 4T straight jacket for my middle child. With this handy food catcher, and a straight jacket for the middle one.. we ought to be good to go.

  41. Very cool. I have a food thrower/dropper too. I sometimes wonder what people think of my parenting when we are in restaurants. LOL

  46. As a former restaurant manager I thank the makers of this product and wish all parents had one. You would not believe some of the messes that parents are more than happy to leave for the server to clean up along with their 5% tip.

  48. Non-baby-haver (youngest is quickly nearing 4!) but that would have been a must-have. It's very similar in concept to a toddler pool floatie we had--large collapsable ring and suspended seat w/legholes--but the floatie had an inflatable ring around the outer rim and was made of a fine nylon mesh.

Thanks for sharing great baby tools :)

  49. Looks pretty neat. I have one of those cloth covers, but it can get kind of yucky if food gets dropped in it.

Don't tell the non-commenters, but I secretly hate them.

(kidding, kidding, I don't hate all of them. The shy ones are okay. The lazy ones suck though.)
