Time Travel

"Where would you go if you had a time machine?" I asked both boys, expecting interesting or philosophical answers.

"I would be a baby again so I could drink milkies!" little kid answered instantly, not even needing a moment to think.

Big Kid had to think about it for a minute before excitedly declaring that he knew what he would do. "I would go back in time and convince Bill Watterson not to retire."

"Who?"

"The creator of Calvin and Hobbes."

"So...little kid, you would go back in time to breastfeed and Big Kid would save a comic strip?"  They both agreed that this is what they would do.

Universe, please don't ever let my kids get a hold of a time machine.

You may not think Big Kid's choice is a good one, but as a fan of Calvin and Hobbes, I'm wishing he had that time machine. Good choice, Big Kid!

I think this might be a foreshadowing of Little Kid's future. Big Kid? I'm not so sure about his answer.

OMG - that was funny and I think my boys would answer nearly the same way. Especially my youngest and breastfeeding. lol

I completely agree with the first poster and with BK. I was so sad when he retired! I LOVED Calvin and Hobbes!

I completely agree with Big Kid! My boys and I have been reading Calvin and Hobbes all summer. We get lots of laughs, but they're trying some of Calvin's tricks, which are definitely funnier on paper than real life.

You're kids are so great. They remind my of mine when they were little. When Masta Max decided to stop using punctuation in 2nd grade (he thought it was useless), I made everyone in the house write to a prompt every day USING PUNCTUATION. One prompt was "The trap door in my closet leads to..." My trap door went to the beach, Iz's went to a magical land, and M. Max's went to hell because so he could defend the entrance of demons to our world. Kerry
