Harold Hubert Piggybottom: Day 2

Good news! Today was a better day with Harold Hubert Piggybottom.

First thing this morning (and I mean first thing), I heard excited gasps and bare feet running toward my room.

"Mom! Moooooom! Harold's done something good! He's having a snowball fight with some of the other toys," Big Kid said.

"It's snowing outside?" I asked, wishing I hadn't stayed up so late.

"No! In the kitchen!" little kid replied.

"It's snowing in the kitchen?"

"No!" they both exclaimed.

"Are snowballs melting on my counter?"

"No, it's just marshmallows mom but you gotta come see. It's so cute!"

"That elf better not have attracted any ants!" Luckily, he had not. And he brought hot chocolate, on our coldest day of the year so far.

So Harold is back in Big Kid's good graces (for now).

My cat is also pretty grateful for the few marshmallows she was able to scrounge

Hopefully Harold can keep up the good work.

Harold Hubert Piggybottom is just about the cutest thing I've ever seen. Your boys will cherish these memories for years to come. And hopefully they'll keep them up for their kids! So creative and clever :)

Best mom ever!! This is so creative and cute and I don't even have the energy to swipe your idea...I have a 4 yr old and 16 month old. sigh

How fun! You are so creative with the ideas. I have only known one other family that had the elf on the shelf and he literally just showed up in a new location in the morning up high somewhere and sat and watched the kids all day. He didn't do anything exciting like yours. I totally want to get one for next year.. but my son may be too old to fall for it. How old are yours, again?

Harold is way better than Jingles he is lazy and just sits somewhere up high away from little fingers

our elf is so dull compared to Harold! All ours does is fly around and wait to tell Santa if they are being bad-lol

so creative!

Seriously? You are making me look bad with my Elf on the Shelf. It is all I can do to remember to hide that guy every night. So, so, so cute...I love the snow fight.

Well this morning Dobby was sitting on the bathroom shelf and Baby Girl came running into where I was getting dressed and said, "Momma, Dobby must have heard you screaming at me when I was taking a bath and decided to watch me tonight to see if I'll be good."

Clearly you are a better/funner mother than me.

My kids are 7 and 4. They have no doubts about Harold's magic and amazingly accept the no touching rule. I didn't do it a few years ago because I thought the whole "little elf watching you" business was too creepy and then when I saw Harold I thought he was downright scary but I think the fun naughty stuff diffuses that. (And they've never seen the movie Chucky like I did when I was little.)

Jennifer, yesterday I did run into the other room to tattle on little kid to Harold for chronic misbehavior, even though I swore the elf was only there to report good deeds. But still, it worked and little kid was worried about being extra good after that.

So if she's good in the bath from now on, I'd say your elf was a success!

Our elf, Quinby Quinton is quite the "play-a". He was spotted driving Barbie around in her Jeep. His arm was slung across her shoulder. I keep telling Miss Gi he is trouble and we should have left him in the box. Kerry

Our Elf "Andy Sprinkles" is totally lame. The first night I forgot to move him!

You are so cool. I totally stole your St. Patrick's Day bit but may not have the energy to make my Elf cool. Go girl.
