Accidents Happen

Today Big Kid came home and sadly reported that some kid in his class said he was annoying and that he knew 1000 people who didn't like him.

I proved to him that this simply was not true by listing everyone in his class who clearly likes him and offered some advice if this child says anything like this again. (Ignore him completely, tell the kid to mind his own business or the always efficient "Whatever", and if all else fails, tell the teacher). He thanked me for the advice and seemed to feel better.

However, I cannot stop thinking about how awful it would be if I accidentally tripped and elbowed this kid in the face tomorrow while volunteering. I would feel really bad if I lost my balance and gave him a black eye. Really, really, terrible. It's not this kid's fault that he's rude and annoying, and adults can't go around elbowing kids in the face for being rude and annoying.

Unless it's an accident.

You have 461 followers who would gladly support a "accidental" black eye! : )

I've so wanted to hurt little people that were mean to my kids. I know it's wrong but that mama bear instinct just comes out!

I can't stand it when kids are mean to my kid! He's a lot like your BK, very serious and sensitive. Some older kids were being mean to him on the bus, so I invited some of my biggest football players (I teach college) to meet the bus a few times. Nothing was said to the mean kids, but the sheer size of the football players scared them.

You know, accidents happen. It isn't like we plan these things.

Pfft...It's not like you planned on tripping at the same time that kid was in front of you and you pushed him forward, possibly landing on him, lol.

I've already started planning for future necessary "accidents"... Mama Bear style

I never thought I would feel the urge to be mean to a child, but man, the first time another kid made my kid feel bad, I was pissed and overcome by the "mama bear" feeling. I couldn't believe it!

you know I have heard you mention many times how clumsy you are ;)

And yea I have never had the urge to hurt some little kid like I did the time I watch a mean little shit head grab my son by his throat and shove him. oh yea it could have ended really badly I had to control the urge to go straight up white trash on him and beat his butt in front of a bunch of little kids and other adults. Once I told his mom what happened I knew instantly his problem-HER! she was a total push over and didn't really do anything to him. I told my son I would have beat his butt right there in front of everyone had he done that to some kid and then talked that way to another adult. OMG it still makes my blood boil.
