Creepy Christmas

I decided NOT to traumatize my kids in the name of fun with this creepy little bastard. I was going to use him as our Elf on the Shelf, but he's scary.

Ok so I do the Elf on a Shelf and just had a post about it the other day, however even though ours is a little weird looking that thing in that picture is crazy and looks nothing like ours.

My kids love it BTW

Is that an Anna Lee doll? If so, those dolls are kind of creepy. (did you know she modelled them after her family?)

I think the elf on a shelf is cute, but I can see my kids being a bit freaked out, too.

Also, I don't know that I could stand the pressure to keep it up and wouldn't want to disappoint them by failing at it.....

That's one evil elf.

Oh my goodness, we just got one and I just (I mean just now) posted about our Elf on the Shelf. Girl, ours looks nothing like that picture! Ours isn't the most adorable creature they could have created, but he is definitely not scary looking. Here's a link to the website where you can buy the book and get a look at the elf: http://www.elfontheshelf.com/#/home

Wow...that is a creepy little bastard!

I totally agree. My daughter is even creeped out about Santa coming in the house at night. She makes sure the doors are all locked before she goes to bed. There is no way that the elf would be a positive experience. Cute for some, but not for us.

Um Ashley... Did you buy the constipated Elf? Creepers.

That thing creeps me out. My mom has one of those at here house. I think she inherited it from some old great aunt or something.

We had one of those in our house when I was growing up. We drafted him for our annual Secret Elf game.

It would show up in your shoes, somebody's backpack, a lunch box, a sock drawer, all kinds of places. It was fun to guess who had it next. :)

I like him! I want him!! Where do I get one like that? I looked online, but none of them look like yours!!

He looks like Chuckie's cousin...

Yikes. He looks pure evil.

No freaking way I would use him. I wouldn't even keep him. Dispose of that "thing" immediately.

I don't think he looks creepy so much as he looks like he's judging you. The pursed lips look more disdainful than anything to me. Of course, I'd never do this because it's WAY too much work. And I have other people in my house that are disdainful...why add to it?

LMAO at creepy little bastard!

Get rid of it ASAP. I personally think the whole elf on a shelf is going a bit too far with trying to get kids to believe. Isn't Santa coming with lots of gifts enough?

But, to each his own!

That was too funny & that elf is going to give me nightmares!

Ooohhh, our elf doesn't look like that at all. But he still scared the crap out of our almost 4 year old at first. I'm thinking he's going to resent the stupid thing though because so far all we've done is reminded him that the elf is watching him be a psycho.

That doll wins the Creeper McCreeperson award. Most definitely.

Good lord that thing is freaky. Did Chuckie move to the North Pole?

My ODS would.not.sleep. until at least after midnight for a month after the Christmas he was 2.5 and old enough to realize that Santa, a stranger, just marched right into our house at night.

Every night we had to convince him that Christmas was over and Santa was far away at his home.

I can't imagine the years of therapy this guy would have caused.

It's funny how everyone else looks at this pic and has commented on how creepy the elf looks. I glanced at the pic and thought.. Why in God's name did Ashley buy a Laura Bush elf ornament??? Now that is creepy.

We bought ours' in the kit and the kids named him "Elfred" and I named him "Merv the Perv." He has this little grin, kinda perverted thing going. Not so nice.

I nearly fell over on Christmas Day when my husband opened one of these from my sister! I immediately started laughing as I thought of your post instantly! Ours looks way different than yours, but I also am a bit concerned that Punky will be freaked out by the fact that a little frickin' elf is snooping around the house flying in and out each night! Thanks for all of the laughs!
