The Googler

I just asked Big Kid how he found the website or You Tube video he kept playing The Song from and he said, "I dest googled it. How come you don't eben know dat?"

"You Googled it? Seriously?"

"Um, yeah. How else would I find anyfing? I dest Googled Yo Gabba Gabba. Dat's how you do it."

So I went in the other room and looked and he showed me how he went to Google and typed in "Yo Gaba Gaba" (He spelled it wrong, the shame) and selected one of the results and clicked around until he ended up on this video:

"You dest need to use da Google 'til you find DJ Wood. He's da guy you want. You know how to get to Google, right?"

Um, yeah, I do, I just didn't realize my five year old did. I shouldn't be surprised but still, it made it almost worth hearing that godawful song again.

I'm thinking it's time to look into parental controls for the computer. God only knows what he could find on Google.

Annoying song but I would have to agree that it is time for parental controls. The possibilities are endless now that he can google. Such a smart big kid.

I heard my then 4 1/2 yr old in her room one day singing in the sweetest little voice about fucking bitches, slamming asses & killing niggas. I about died. I asked her where she heard that song & she said Barney sings it. I asked her where she had heard Barney singing that song & she said she googled it. She hopped on the computer & sure enough in 2 seconds she had pulled up this video & her computer privileges were highly monitored from that point on.

I have made the mistake of using Google Image Search in front of my class before... def. time for the parental controls or something like that... of course LK will learn how to reset them, right? He's just that smart, too!

Wow! I teach technology and I have a class full of 6th graders that have no clue how to use Google.

Use Firefox as your browser and they have a free add-on called Glubble which the parent locks. I tried googling raunchy shit while logged in as one of my kids and it came up blank. ;) You just have to not be lazy and sign out after you're done using the internet or you'll stay signed in. I made that mistake once or twice (or like 15 times but whatevs!).

LMAO! When my oldest was 4-5, she started downloading games as such from kids sites. It is amazing what they can learn on their own.

BK amazes me. He and The Politician were born within days of each other, and I think we are probably a good 2-3 years away from typing on the computer. You should have BK's IQ tested..... I think you have a little genius on your hands.

What in the hell is Elijah Wood doing in that video? Far to few people seem amazed by this.

And while I have no kids are shows like that really healthy for the kids? Teletubbies looks like it would just make them dumber. At least Mr. Rogers and Sesame Street have real dialog and lessons to learn.

Okay, I have read this blog since right after you started it and have always lurked, but I must come out and comment for this. Is this song like the Pied Piper for children? Because I played the video and my 3 1/2 year old son came into the room dancing like crazy. He doesn't even watch Yo Gabba Gabba! Upon his request,I am now playing it for the 4th time... but this shit won't fly much longer...
Also, I don't hear "razorblades" or "cheap hotel," but I do hear "Have a slutty day!" WTF?
Great blog, Ashley. Sorry it took me so long to quit lurking!
