Dream job

Last night I got a job offer to be a writer in Australia. I was going to have to move there and I was going to make $72,000 a year. I was sitting at a conference table and some guy was making me this offer and instead of telling me how much I was going to make, he punched it into his calculator all dramatically and spun it around to show me. I was so excited to be moving to Australia and to be having a job!

And then I woke up. And I was pretty sad that I wouldn't be moving to Australia or having a job.

Don't get me wrong, I've become really good at not having a job. More pool time, more drinking, more movie watching--I'm doing an amazing job at all of those things.

But I'd give it all up to be a writer in Australia.

Here's a shoplifting bird to help us get over the disappointment.

Before I realized it was your dream, I thought you turned it down and was hatching a plan to impersonate you and steal your job.

awww, too bad.

although this not having a job thing IS fabulous, isn't it? I've mastered the art of lying around all day and quickly cleaning up at 5pm (translation: making the kids clean up at 5pm) People think having 4 kids is hard, but I'm telling you, if they are spaced out enough, the more you have the less work you have to do around the house! You'd be surprised what chores a 3yo can do (when they are still excited about helping mom)

That video is freaking AWESOME! I actually laughed out loud. Sorry about the dream job, though. :)

While living in Australia is indeed awesome, $72,000.00 definitely doesn't go as far here as it does in the USA. Check out the prices of real estate http://www.realestate.com.au and groceries http://www.coles.com.au/Default.aspx

Wow, I actually felt the pang of disappointment as you described waking up. 72thou to write in Australia - I was psyched to believe those jobs were real...
