No Deal

Me: little kid, we're going to have a better day today, right? Yesterday was not a good day.

little kid: Does this mean you're gonna take me to Target and get my Star Wars guys?

Me: No! No, little kid, this means you're just going to be good. For the sake of being good.

little kid: No deal. Can we go to Target a day?

When did being good become a prerequisite for getting a toy instead of a prerequisite for not getting a beating? My little perfectionist has it down to a science. "Mommy--can I get one itty bitty four dowwar twuck in my buuuudget?" UGH..gets me every time. What about Mommy's budget--where are my freakin' shoes? Oh yeah, in the college fund..little shits.

I love that he's so honest!

We had this issue for awhile. Baby Girl would want something because she had been "good" and I had to explain that she needed to be good just for goodness sake... and to not be punished for being bad. Some days we still have to repeat this lesson.
