Me: little kid, we're going to have a better day today, right? Yesterday was not a good day.
little kid: Does this mean you're gonna take me to Target and get my Star Wars guys?
Me: No! No, little kid, this means you're just going to be good. For the sake of being good.
little kid: No deal. Can we go to Target a day?
When did being good become a prerequisite for getting a toy instead of a prerequisite for not getting a beating? My little perfectionist has it down to a science. "Mommy--can I get one itty bitty four dowwar twuck in my buuuudget?" UGH..gets me every time. What about Mommy's budget--where are my freakin' shoes? Oh yeah, in the college fund..little shits.
Haha, he drives a hard bargain!
I love that he's so honest!
We had this issue for awhile. Baby Girl would want something because she had been "good" and I had to explain that she needed to be good just for goodness sake... and to not be punished for being bad. Some days we still have to repeat this lesson.
awesome! i think i'm going to teach my kids "no deal" instead of what they currently do... mmmmoooooommmmmmmm!!! that's not faaaaaiiiirrrrrrr!!!
The negotiations are starting to wear on me. Tell me this ends.
