Seems Harsh

Ashley: How am I going to get little kid unblue before his doctor's appointment tomorrow?
Mom: Hmmm, I don't know. What about Comet?
Ashley: Comet? Like the stuff I scrub the sink with??
Mom: Yes, why not? I bet it would work.
Ashley: Isn't it like bleach? And I think it would hurt, it would seriously scrub him.
Mom: Well, you don't want the pediatrician to know that you don't watch him.
Ashley: I watch him.
Mom: (silence)
Ashley: I do watch him. He's fast.
Mom: (silence)
Ashley: Well, I don't think Comet is a good idea at all.
Mom: I don't know what to tell you then.

COMET?? wtf?
i think the pedi would be more worried about that then food coloring.

Hah! Comet? What about vinegar?

not on his face but for his hands and other spots you could try finger nail polish remover...it takes permanent marker off of a lot of things...might work on food coloring...but not near his mouth probably...unless you have poison control on speed dial...

good luck!

You know, they used Dawn dish detergent to clean all the animals that were covered in oil from the Exxon Valdez... it must be powerful stuff, and not full of bleach!

Did she know that it was in his mouth?!

The silence and the "I don't know what to tell you, then" sounds like a conversation with my very own mother.

LMFAO!! She's old school! Back then, they didn't f&*@ around. Lye soap would take your skin off, but they still used it. My grandma gave us whiskey for our gums as babies (hmmmm, now that I think about it, NO WONDER like(d) to drink) lol! Goodluck!

Harsh? Man, back in the day, we used to brush our teeth with the stuff. Bathed in battery acid, too. Kids today are too soft.

Ashley - you can try use cuticle remover. It's what the makep artists use at work to get marker off skin. (I think polish remover might be too harsh). However, food coloring is used as a skin stain for fake tattoos so they won't wash off easily - alcohol takes it off, but that may be hard on Little Kid! Hmmmm. You might be SOL.

My mom used to scrub my elbows with comet.... I turned out OK- I think.

Don't try a Magic Eraser- read a terrible story on the bargain board about a mom using one to scrub her DD's face to try to get Sharpie off and basically rubbing off the top layer of skin.

Comet - on a baby's skin? And his lips? I want to ask if she was serious, but I'm thinking that she was. That is crazy!

That's hilarious how your mom just gives up. Like if you can't take Comet as the answer then screw you man!

By the way I'm not sure if this you or not but thought I would check..

I think the ped will understand a blue kid over a rash and/or possible death from comet.

I can't wait to hear what you said to the Dr.
