Dear Kids Everywhere,

If an adult sets a meal down in front of you, chances are, they're about to get you a drink. If they've provided your sibling with a drink, chances are even greater that you are about to get a drink.

So please, for the love of God, stop screaming, "I WANT A DRINK PLEASE. WHERE'S MY DRINK? I'M THIRSTY!" at every single meal.

I am sick and tired of kids needing drinks. I will get you a drink in one freaking minute.

Seriously,
Moms Everywhere

My 4 year old is notorious for this except she says "I'M DRINKY!"

I'm so feeling you. My child walked in the door whining today. I was like "Damn! Give me one flippin minute please!" It's been that kind of day.

Also, quit asking where Dad is. He is at freaking work. Of course. He did not go somewhere fun without you. Quit being paranoid.

UGH UGH UGH!! I hate that!!! Mine are.the.worst. about "I need a drink! seriously the kid is 7 and I am DOING something else...like I don't know fixing plates still. And he will sit there going um, I think you forgot my drink. It takes everything in me not to flip completely out on him. Because it's not here and there it's every single flippin' meal.

I feel ya.

Amen to that! And, to add...

PS- If your brother comes and asks for a snack, or drink, or something else, and I say "yes", chances are, I would say yes to you, also. Please don't pull out the whiniest whine you have and say, "How come HE gets that? I want one!" before even asking me.

Biggest kid pet peeve! I can somewhat tolerate whining if they are upset at a decision I made. (I mean, even as an adult, I can get upset and whine about something not going my way.) I just can't wrap my brain around skipping the step of finding out the answer and going straight to whining.

Thanks for letting me vent. :)

I literally go through this for every single meal and snacks. Glad to know it goes on elsewhere!

I hear ya Ashley! I hear ya! The Son is notorious for drinking his entire drink and then not wanting his dinner and then after we clean everything up and get ready to go get ready for bed, he's suddenly hungry again since he hasn't actually eaten. He waits for his drinks now until at least half the meal is gone. Ugh!

Amen! My kids do this too! Every night they ask "Where's my drink?" as soon as I set down their plates. And they do the snack thing too. As soon as we walk in the door they start requesting a snack. Every single day they get a snack as soon as they come home. You would think that by now they would have figured out that everyday they get a snack.

Oh, you must've been serving dinner at my house.

OMG yes. SOOOOOoooooo much hate for that.

Also? If I've already SAID "Yes" and am on my way to the cabinet for cups? Please, for the love of all that's holy S.T.F.U.

Lastly, please do not request more of anything if I have not yet had the chance to sit MY ass down and eat a bite. *I* am actually hungry having worked through lunch unlike you who have had at least morning snack, hot lunch, afternoon snack, and Halloween candy while doing homework.

Exactly! I always say that my kids want a waitress not a mom. Sadly, I am a terrible waitress. After a stint in college serving drinks in a pub, I said never again. But some how I now work in the busiest water, milk, juice bar in the city.

My kid waits until I sit down. Then he wants a drink.
