Bored

The kids and I are making each other nuts and are super bored, but I cannot think of one free thing to do that doesn't involve me being out in the 95 degree heat.

I was thinking of taking everyone to the pet store just to look around for fun, but is that worth getting everyone showered and dressed? I know the library is showing a free movie this afternoon, but it's one I've seen and could rent and I don't know if I feel like sitting there for two hours to see a movie versus watching it in the comfort of my own home.

So it's probably mostly my own fault that I'm bored, but I still am.

We bought a $10 slip and slide from Wal-mart and it provided entertainment all week. The kids LOVED IT.

Just be careful because if you lay it, all the neighborhood kids will come.

You could always go to the movie store and rent a bunch of kiddie movies. Or go to Wal-Mart and buy a game or fun puzzle.

I'm thinking no one would notice you were non-showered at the pet store as the animal aroma would dominate ;) Maybe that's just our local family-run place, tho'...

do you have a parent resource center in your area? if so, you should totally check it out. both big kid and little kid would love it and you could sit and sip coffee and many are air conditioned and most are free. they are community secret treasures. i will email you the one i work at so you can get a feel.

i have a poster in my officey-space that says "if you are bored when alone it's your own fault".
sometimes it helps to think about it.

have any sidewalk chalk? all of you should go outside and create a mural

I am so there with you...I was so excited that hubby was home today so at least I had another adult around to be bored with. This Florida heat is tough!

When I was a kid I loved to put dish soap in one of those plastic kiddie pools. Then play with straws, old fashioned had beeters and other bubble making stuff. Also, the library has free movies and cd's.

We've done the pet store thing a few times! The kids love it.

Our library lets you rent movies for free.
