Empathy

I volunteered in Big Kid's classroom for an hour the other day, because I'm awesome like that, and his teacher passed on the following anecdote:

Miss E: Yes, Kelly?

Kelly: So and so is touching me and I used my words and asked them to stop and they didn't.

Miss E: Okay, well stop it so and so. Yes, Big Kid?

Big Kid: Um, dere was someone touchin' me earlier and I assed dem to stop and dey dest kept ticklin' my shoulder. So I dest wanted to tell Kelly dat I know how she feels and I'm finking me and her are feelin' da same way right now.

In other news, I'm going to be a soccer mom. Yep. We'll see how that goes, remind me to tell you about the time we tried t-ball.

I'm glad you're writing all these funny things down because they will be priceless to read one day. Question for you Ashley...I have a family blog, and some day I want to output it to print in a little photo book, or something. My blog is in blogger too. I found some guy who did a blog post about how to do this, and it sounds very time consuming, but possible. Do you know? Have you ever thought about doing this? These blogs are such a great record of our lives, and I'd love to print mine out someday. Thoughts? Info?

I wish that I could have you bottle big kids awesomeness and send me some to sprinkle on my kids.

Oh the day in the life of a Kindergarten teacher. Did I ever tell you about the day my kiddos teacher had to leave early and she left ME in charge? oh yea that was fun. The best one was when Darisha came to me and said Daniel won't stop touching my hair beads and I just got it done yesterday:)

Oh and I know ALL about tball we are currently enjoying our 4th season. Wyatt plays spring and fall ball, he started at 4! Oh yea and hubs is the coach-it can get seriously funny out there. Just last week the little boy playing catcher for the team we were playing peed his pants during the inning right there behind the batter a big ol puddle of pee in the dirt:) oh then he played in the mud.

I became a soccer mom when Emily was in kindergarten. It can be a lot of fun.

I don't know how the age groupings work in your area, but in my area the cut-off is July 31st, so Emily, being an August baby, was the oldest kid on her team, and the only one already in kindergarten. It was nice that she wasn't the smallest on the field like she was in her classroom.
