No School?

There is no school today.

But I didn't know that. I just remembered the date "January 5th" and assumed that school would start on a Monday.

How wrong I was. Of course I didn't figure this out until I was staring at the non-existent car rider line, fully dressed kids in the back, lunches packed, the whole shebang. I guess it was supposed to be December 22-January 5th, with school starting on the 6th. A Tuesday.

I dropped little kid off at the daycare lady anyway, but Big Kid can't stop crying. He says this is "The worstest day of his entire life".

So much for my "got it together" and organized New Year....

I'm trying to contain my laugh, I promise.

Maybe it's just funny that things like this happen to someone other than me?

My mom did the same thing to me after Cmas break except I went and stood at the bus stop by myself for what felt like forever. As I first grader I really had no concept of time, actually I still don't.

I made the same mistake. Luckily, I realized my error last night.

Peanut doesn't have school either but I did know that because I remember when I got the school calendar (I always put their days off IMMEDIATELY into my computer calendar) all I could think was, WTF?! Teacher workday on the Monday after Christmas break?!

At least he isn't a bus kid. I can't tell you how many times we didn't realize there was a snowday and had walked down the street to the bus stop and stood there for an hour or until someone told us.. whichever came first.

LOL!! I know someone else who did this, too. And several people tried to warn her on Facebook the night before, but I guess she just wasn't paying attention.
