Anonymous 2 - I think the sadness comes from the talent he had and what he used to be, not his descent into insanity. Accusations are accusations - I'm not taking them lightly, but I think it's okay for people to be upset that he's gone. For most people, he was his music and his music brought back good memories. I personally am able to separate "Wacko Jacko" (always hated that nickname) from "King of Pop".
I'm sure if you loved his music, you can understand people's sadness.
Was he odd? Yea, he also has been in the spot light since he was a small child. Of course he ended up kind of weird.
Have you ever heard the phone call between the father of the first kid and his friend? "Yea, if I stick with this I'm set for life.." Not to mention, if you are a parent and this happened to your child, would you simply take money and walk away, knowing that other children are going to be around this man? I stand by my conviction that it was all about money, and because he was a weird guy, he was an easy target for it.
Of all the comments out there, your is the truest and funniest. As soon as I read "but I do hope at least one of them writes a book," I realized - that pretty much summarizes what the WHOLE WORLD is thinking.
There are so many bad people in this world, and money brings out the worst. I've always thought that Michael Jackson was a victim of people like that. He needed to have better people around him to protect him from leaches like that. People will say *anything* in order to extort money from people who have it. This is what I think anyway. I chose not to judge when there is no certainty.
Isn't the first one named Michael Jackson Jr. and then the next one is Prince Michael Jackson II? I didn't think they were both "Prince".
I think MJ was unbelievably talented but was treated like a circus animal instead of a child and once he became independent he could have anything he wanted except for his childhood but he tried and tried and tried. I also believe he truly loved and loves kids but definitely think it is possible (and even likely) that that love was a little warped.
It's tragic that he became such a mess, but regardless of accusations or not, once someone accuses you of being a pedophile--you don't continue to let random little kids sleep in your bed and surround yourself with kids at every opportunity. I mean, come on.
He was an icon and an awesome performer, he was also clearly completely mental the last couple of decades.
Michael Jackson was a freak who hung out with young boys, chimps, and plastic surgeons. He also dangled babies from balconies. If you act like a freak, don't be surprised if the world treats you like one.
The kids are another story. They didn't ask for any of this.

I'm pretty hearbroken about it. My mom is on the verge of "total mess".
Here is a great story about him - http://axecollectorblog.blogspot.com/2007/10/my-brush-with-badness.html
So Sad.
He is an accused sex offender. How come nobody remembers that? Its hard for me to be sad considering he's been accused more than one time..
I mean, don't get me wrong, I loved his music, but really.. its overshadowed by the accusations. For me anyway..
Sorry but I agree with the above anonymous post. Great music. I am sorry for his family. But I cant forget the accusations of molestation.

Accused. Found not-guilty.

RIP Michael. You rocked my world in the 80's.
There is Prince Michael I, Paris Michael and Prince Michael II (Blanket).
Kimberly, I agree completely.
And I was confused about the Prince Michael II too, haha. I'd actually forgotten he'd even had another child.

Remember, OJ was accused and not guilty too.
