Gifts

So we went to take Big Kid to get his girl's jewelry gift yesterday and the store was unexpectedly closed. He was so mad at me, he looked like he was going to cry.

"We're going to Target, we can get something for her there. I feel bad, they are usually open on Sunday!"

"I don't want to get her somefing from Target, mom. Target's jewry isn't as beautiful. I want to get her somefin' from da jewry store!"

I finally convinced him that I'd take him right after school so he can give it to her on Tuesday. He was still disappointed and barely wanted to go to school, but I'm looking forward to taking him today and seeing what he picks out.

Speaking of gifts, Mr. Ashley bought me a Wii Fit over the weekend! It's awesome! Except that it said I had the body of a 40-year-old....it can kiss my ass with that bullshit. I really don't see why it thinks that, I did pretty well balancing and am within the right weight range for my height. Fuckers. I was almost turned off by that but ended up playing for over an hour last night and had a great time. I want the EActive (or EA Active? I don't know) game and the Sports Resort game to go with it. Wii fit is way more fun than Jillian Michaels' mean ass. (Not saying I won't do The Shred anymore, just that I think Jillian Michaels might be mean.)

Well, this post is destined to end awkwardly since I sort of shoved 2 too-short topics into one post. I'll update you on our jewelry store trip later.

My boyfriend, geek that he is, gets Game Informer in the mail and their most recent issue reviewed a bunch of the Wii fitness things, they had a fitness trainer look them over. EA Active (or whatever) was supposed to be pretty good. The Wii fit was really inaccurate, this guy got a lower fitness score and labeled "obese", despite being a lean but muscular personal trainer.

I have Wii fit (wedding gift from my bro in law per my request lol) and I loved it. Your age goes down really quickly once you start it. I love that I could do the free run and change the channel so I'd get a jog in, in my living room, while watching whatever I wanted! However, it said "you're obese" so I stopped once I was preggo lol.

I predict you will LOVE the Wii Fit - and the EActive. I love being able to watch my progress. and the Active will also let you pick the level you want for the circuit training. Something that you like to do is way more effective than something you dread! I just pre-ordered Wii Fit Two! Good luck!

I stopped using my Wii Fit months ago. I swear I could hear it groan when I stepped on it!

I will "finish" the 30 Day Shred tomorrow...I did 9 days of level 1 without a break..took off day 10 then started level 2 on day 11. I did level 2 for 8 days, and then decided to try level 3...I did level 3 one time...decided it was way too hard so I went back to level 2...I kind of alternated between level 1 & level 2 for the rest of the time. I also started working out 3 days on, 1 day off...My knees ACHE so bad that I had too. Anyway...I certainly didn't lose 20 pounds, but I'm sure it is because I didn't change my eating habits ONE BIT...I actually didn't gain/lose any weight. Thankfully I did measure some spots and saw improvement. If I hadn't done that, I'd have felt like it was a waste...In 5 spots from my boobs to my c-section scar, I lost a total of 7 inches. I am pretty pleased with that, although, I would have loved to lose just one freaking pound...I know, I know..I probably lost a pound or two of fat and replaced it with a pound or two of muscle...whatever, the scales are still tipping "FATTY". I'm glad to hear you got a Wii...that was on my list of things I think I wanted to try...We were planning on buying the girls one for Christmas, so now Mommy can play too. Keep us posted on how it goes. After I finish the Shred...my next mission is to do some ridiculous dvd called INSANITY. It is a 60 day program...but it comes with a detailed food list too...Whew, it's so much easier to just be lazy and fat :-) Good luck with the Wii!!

Jillian is a mean ass.

Also, I am with you on the age thing. Just last week I had some medical tests done and the guy asked if there was any chance I was pregnant. I said no, and he proceeded to say, "Oh, yeah, you're probably ready for grandchildren now."

I AM ONLY 35.5!!!!!! What is wrong with you? And just why isn't going to cut it.

Oh I remember when I wanted to by my first real crush a valentines gift - dragged my mom to the strip mall - disaster! couldn't find anything that would be "perfect" for him because he was "perfect" - not! I won't even tell you where he is today and what he is doing - looser! finally found him a leather bracelet! Oh that was almost 35 years ago....remember it like yesterday. Now my MJ is always looking for gifts to give to friends. I think that the Friendship Stone would be great for tweens and teens to give each other!

Wii Fit is awesome! Stick with it long enough to unlock Boxing and Advanced Step--sooooo worth it. Also, don't even attempt Yoga with kids anywhere in the house...kids and pets love to mommy-tip...

Hint--if you don't like your "age" retake the test. There are a couple challenges I super-suck at and others I rock--within 15 minutes my age can drop 10 years ;)

We do Wii Wednesday at my friends house. We hula hoop and do the balance exercises while drinking beer. Good times! And we just ordered the Shred! Wonder if you can drink beer while doing it...
