Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance

Today I caught little kid with a (real) wrench and his motorcycle in 2 pieces. When I took away the wrench, he pulled a toy hammer from behind him and continued working:

I'm a little alarmed he was able to take it apart.

He was not able to put it back together.

(but in all fairness, I did take away his wrench.)

*editor's note: don't be concerned about his hair. I have talked him into cutting it. He was reluctant until I told him we'd get it cut just like a cowboy's hair. Big Kid also seems to be coming to terms with the fact that little kid will be getting a hair cut, so it just might happen this time.

Concerned???? How could I be concerned about those gorgeous soft curls? I must confess, despite the stories about LK, he is without a doubt one of the most adorablest kids I've ever seen! I know there's a gleam in his eye, but that smile would melt my heart! Thanks for sharing pics.

My third son was great at taking things apart but he never could get them back together. I wish I had all that money I had to spend replacing things.

He's 23 now and he's good at putting things together. He still likes to take shit apart but it's usually his stuff and I don't care if he can't get it back together anymore!

Aw, please don't cut the hair! I recently had my son's cut, no curls but I regret it very much.

"Cowboy's Hair" - I'll remember this for when I need it in a couple years.

Very impressive! As a child, my husband loved taking things apart to see how they worked & fit back together. He's now an engineer who designs equipment for the space shuttles & military.

I love little kid's hair. I will be sad when you cut it. I had to chuckle at his cleavage, um I mean bad guy chest muscles, in the 2nd picture. I'm beginning to think you are making up all these stories because nothing that cute can be so mischievous!

He looks so cute. I can't imagine him wanting to punch, kill, maim and destroy.

How the hell can you cut that hair? And yah, you took away his wrench!! How's a guy supposed to do his work if you take away his tools?

Wow, you have cute kids. But, I see it, in his eyes, that "I'm so cute, I can get away with murder" look. Mine that is his age has that same look. It's dangerous, I tell ya'.

or you could just put it in ponytails, I think that would speed up the hair cut.

I love his hair, just as it is.

I recently relented into allowing my big boy 7 year old get a big boy "spikey" haircut and cried to see his long locks I've loved since his toddlerhood all sheared away. It broke my heart, quite a lot. Don't rush to make that little kid of yours big too soon.
