New Book Beginnings

I got 2 new books in the mail today--In Our Hearts We Were Giants: The Remarkable Story of the Lilliput Troupe and The 19th Wife.

I'm excited and don't know which one to start first. One involves dwarfs and the Holocaust--it's bound to be interesting. The other one is historical fiction and involves polygamy, so I bet I'll like it. I love starting a new book.

I finished Outlander and it was good. It was an enjoyable, leisurely read. It was also sexy and romantic. I was sort of meh about the ending, but I am glad I read it. It felt a little cheap and dirty at parts but sometimes that's a good thing.

I noticed the 19th Wife has about 30 pages of type setting error in it, where the bottom margin is completely screwed up. It doesn't affect the words any, but it still annoys me a lot. I noticed those pages while flipping through and have felt a little cheated ever since.

Take it to your local big box bookstore and tell them you got it through their website and it's all jacked up and you want to exchange for the same thing.

I have been waiting to read the 19th Wife...The other one sounds great too. If you like historical fiction read The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane. It is about the Salem Witch Trials. Excellent.

I read The 19th Wife this summer and couldn't put it down. I finally caved and bought it after "thinking about it" every time I went to a bookstore for about a year, only to discover my mom already had a copy. Figures.....but it was really good.

Isn't it jsut so funny how things that don't change the words any completely irk you for the read... I just finished a book with a line down the pages like a photo copy error only in a book.. It drove me crazy, did they do that on purpose or to drive me nuts because we all know publishing companies do that to their readers, jk. or did it only happen to my book and if sooooo what did I do to make the book people so un-happy. I hope you love both books.

i just love how you felt "meh" about something. i hope you don't mind, but i'm going to start explaining my lack of enthusiasm for various things as "meh"...

is that alright? or do you feel meh about it?

I made my book club read Outlander, and they all loved it. There are more in the series, so maybe you should read more about Jamie (We all loved him, and the naughty bits!)
I too love new books....I can't imagine trying to read with the Kindle....I would miss being able to turn the pages.
