I love those chickens. They are just so funny. Right now they're living in a cage on my screen lanai and I love sitting out there and watching them. I'm going to be totally bummed when they grow up and move out.
They are total characters and they're going to be plump little butterballs (they will NEVER be eaten) because I love giving them treats. They love bread and spinach and oatmeal and I love to watch them eat it.
Today I took them out in the yard so they could run around and eat bugs and all three just wanted to sit in my lap the whole time, perfectly content to take turns letting me pet them. So cute! I never thought I could love chickens this much.
I know, the whole thing is boring without pictures or video, I'll get to that soon. I did a pirate playdate for the website I work on the day after I got back from Texas and I am just plain worn out. "Suffering from exhaustion" I prefer to say, because sometimes actresses get hospitalized for that and it sounds so much more interesting than just "really, really tired". So I'll get to it, be patient.

"Suffering from exhaustion" in my house is code for "suffering from parenthood." Those little buggers suck the life out of me.
Shit. DH had a V and now I am thinking of you and those chicks on your lap. I may have to go get me some because I need some babies to love. Expect a very angry husband on your doorstep about Wednesday...........
Come on, let's see some pics!
We can not get the full effect of chick post without pictures. That is a necessity. :)
I went to check on my only chick last night and he has skipped out of sleeping in the nesting box and has learned how to fly to the beams in the roof to sleep with the big chickens. They grow up so fast.
"Suffering from exhaustion". I'm totally using that one next time someone asks me about the bags (luggage sized) under my eyes.
The chickens sound so cute, like they are cats or something. You are kinda making me think twice about eating chicken now though.
I love all animals.
So our new critter gets obedience lessons at a feed store so I decided to tag along last night to see the baby animals. However they were fresh out of baby chicks (Thank God). They did have a poster so I got to see what yours will look like when it is all grown up. Veryprettythankyouverymuch. Looking at all the birds they did have I must say it is hard for me to see anything avian as being cute and cuddly (sorry). They had a ton of white doves and I knew nothing good could come of that.
Then I saw the baby bunnies and kitties and aawwww....I am banned, do you hear me banned! Our Terrior went into turbo-drive when he saw the bunnies luckily my husband yanked that little 17lb pup about 8 feet off the ground and there was no blood shed. (le sigh)
Why are you doing this chicken thing again? To teach the boys, save money or qualify for a family farm tax break? Isn't there bird shit? I'm not getting the allure. You must share photo's and video's so I can see what all the fuss is about.
