Baaaaad Day

Between everything on the news and some real life stuff, I just can't get it together today.

(and then the guilt of sweating the "real life" stuff when some people's "real lives" right now consist of trying to dig their family from out of rubble)

There's some funny in me, but it is waaaaay down there.

I haven't even told you all about my new Wahl-martz wardrobe yet, or little kid's charming new habit of streaking and peeing and pooping on things.

So LK/Lynda/Em's mom/BKFMIL/Whatever we call her and I are saying "fuck the world" and doing sunset and dessert tonight.

We deserve it.

Hopefully I'll be funnier when I get back. Hang tight 'til then.

I hear you. I get easily overwhelmed watching the news and seeing all the bad out there. On the other hand, I feel guilty when I don't watch the news. WTF?

Take a pill, kick back and get drunk, drunk, drunk. Sometimes, you just have to... Hope you have fun and forget about the shitty day.

I'm pretty sure the world is coming to an end any day now....with all the tornadoes (sp?) and hurricanes and cyclones and earthquakes and corruption and floods and death and destruction. It's so bad...I can't watch the news either but then I feel stupid for not being up on current events. But all the current events are so damn depressing! Ugh. Today I was reading more about the FLDS people and how they are taking away all the babies from the teen moms, as soon as they turn 1 year old. Like, on their birthday. They come and take them away and put them in a fucking foster home. Like that is so much better for them? My heart broke for those young moms. In the worst case scenario, they are victims of statutory rape. In the best case scenario, they are teen moms who had consensual sex and ended up with a baby. Either way, how does that give the government the right to take away their children? Do we take away the babies of all teen moms? I just think there should've been much more investigation into what was going on there, how old everyone was, what was consensual, etc. before they just took hundreds of kids away from their moms and put them in foster care (blech - I'm sorry, I know there are some great foster parents out there, but the system overall is messed up). Or maybe just take a closer look at the girls in the 10-17 year old age range and find out what's going on with them - are they getting ready to be "married" to someone? Do they need to be "saved"? Ya know? Bad bad bad bad bad shit going on these days. Makes me want to head for the hills with my kids and stay away from all civilization. Seriously.

PS Sorry for bringing up the FLDS stuff - that was totally OT but it was on my mind since I just read about it. And it's depressing. And I don't have my own blog so I have to write about stuff in your Comments section. Lol. ;)
