Still Here

No late night door knocks, thank goodness.

It seems that they have the fire mostly contained, I haven't heard yet how many houses were lost or damaged but apparently no others are in danger at this time.

I *still* don't have coffee because Mr. Ashley didn't think running to the corner store was an emergency last night, and I didn't want to deal with evacuation traffic.

I may run and get some now. I can't survive without it, plus our corner store is our area's gossip hub AND where all the cowboys and firemen hang out, so it's probably worth the trip.

I'm glad you're all safe and sound. I saw on the news last night about a large fire in the Lee county area and was wondering if that was the same fire you were talking about. So, yeah, my last thoughts before going to sleep last night were of you and your family.

Put LK in the dog crate and take BK with you to the corner store for the quick coffee grab. That's always what I do- just stick the baby one in the crate and tell the dog to watch her. It'll be fine for just a few minutes.

Cowboys and firefighters?

I'd have to run to the local store damn near every day!

A can of full-sugar Coke is my coffee, and I can't imagine going days without one, hurricane or not. That's why I keep about 4 12 packs on hand and carry a few cans with me when I travel in case I end up in a Pepsi-only area.

Glad your area is spared. Hope everything is under control. I don't like reading the news, so I'll just rely on your to keep me updated about the situation.

Tea with lots of vanilla cream is my coffee.

We are now out of vanilla cream. That renders the tea undrinkable. I feel your pain.
