I'm not ignoring or avoiding you all, just having a super busy and super hard week. I'd rather be in the Closet, trust me.
*The Jesus People don't want little kid. None of them. They take one look at him and declare that they've had a year long waiting list and I'll never get him in to a two year old program. The Jews will take him but they've changed their tuition for that age level and it is INSANE. Truly unbelievable. I have NO OPTIONS except for an unverified home daycare that I'm not feeling thrilled about.
*I think I just lost most of a client session. I didn't have it properly backed up yet, technical difficulties occurred, data recovery people will have to get involved now and I want to kill myself. It's not something that can be re-shot either. Have I mentioned that I want to kill myself? Seriously puke-tastic over this one. God damn me.
*Remember that $400+ doctor's appointment Big Kid had for his school shots? Well, they forgot a shot. Now the school won't put him in a class until I come back with proof that he has had it. I walked into the health department the other day and walked right back out because it was TOTAL CHAOS. Now tomorrow is the last day I have to get this fucking shot and get the papers to the school. How do people who don't vaccinate do it? I'm just going to tell everyone this particular shot is against my religion and to leave me the hell alone.
I'm really tired, so I think I'll go to bed and lie there sleeplessly sick to my stomach over these potentially lost photos while agonizing over what to tell the client (she's expecting them soon...real soon).
Let's hope the poor people all sleep in tomorrow and Big Kid can get his shot in a manner that will be relatively painless for me.

for Big Kid's shot -- Walk in Clinic, got my kid's done within 30-40 minutes. Worth every penny.
I hope you find a good place for lk soon. I'd put him on all of the Jesus waiting lists and give the home daycare a try. If the home day care doesn't work out, you may just have to fork over the big bucks for the Jews. At least until Jesus wants him.
That sucks royally about the pics! Hopefully, you can recover the lost files and not have to kill yourself.
Definitely get to the health department early. I know this sounds snooty of me, but a lot of the poor people are that way because they are lazy. If you get there before they roll themselves out of bed and have their first pack of cigarettes, you shouldn't have too long of a wait.
Good Luck with everything!
Go into the health department and ask for a waiver for for vaccinations. They will give you one you fill it out and give it to the school and they have to shut up about it.
I feel you on the shot thing... I marched my THREE children into the immunizations clinic assuring them over and over again it was just to get the clearance letter only to find out they had ADDED shots to their regime and TWO of my kids needed boosters, so I got to lay on them while the shot man poked their legs and all the rest of the people in the clinic listened to them scream like their limbs were being amputated. Those damn people made a liar and a bad mother out of me!
Also, I know how the picture thing goes (my own, not for clients... which is worse, I realize). My external hard drive is holding my family's pictures for the last four years hostage, all locked up in a tiny little metal box. The company says they can retrieve them... for $1400!! Um... no thanks. We'll just think of that thing as our own little time capsule and when $1400 becomes pocket change to us, we may talk about opening that sucker up so that we can take a trip down memory lane.
Sorry for the stress... and for the book I wrote.
Poor Ashley...those are some pretty sucky situations. All of us in the closet are cheering you on though.
NOOOOOO! I'm so sorry about the photos - what a disaster! I hope you can get them back. Maybe they will magically be back on your computer in the morning? I hope so. :( I'm sorry!!

Your state should have a website of licensed home childcare providers. Dont use someone who isn't licensed!! There are alot of really good people out there who watch kids in their homes but there are alot of not so good people too.
That is tough Ashely, What about a nanny type situation where the person comes to your house, they have agencies that can recommend people or a friend of a friend that needs a job. A nice older lady? You are in a tough spot! Becs
p.s.
I agree with calling Publix and take Big Kid to pick out the cake from their book. That is what I did with my boy and he loved it!
You can get a waiver from the health department or the school. Several states have a philosophical/personal exemption in addition to religious and medical. Take him in next week when life if calmer.
I waive 2 shots for my kids for personal reasons.
OMG-if it's not one thing it's another..as for the pics I will keep my fingers & toes crossed for their retrieval because that sucks!!
I'm sorry you're having such a rough time. Keep Big Kid on the Jesus list. Trust me, it's not a personal thing when they say "no room in the inn."
As far as your hard drive, don't puke yet. Things can be saved; hang in there!
Hang in there, kid. Everything will work out just fine. And if not? Well... you could always go to California and join a cult. Ah but then the Closet would be empty - and we don't want that, now do we? No, of course not.
Okay, if you need 'em, I got guns.
Shit.
Good luck on the exemption. THey arent always that easy. DH has been to 2 different offices over two weeks and is getting the run-around. I would just go to a walk-in clinic. Urgent Care of America of something like that. They even have a sign in their lobby saying they do school shots.
Yea that sucks!
I am also not patiently awaiting photo previews lets hope she has not had technical difficulties. drop into my blog to check out the few she sent me as a sneak peak, seriously I am tooting my own horn here but man she is so cute.
OMG on the pics, shots and daycare situation.
FYI, I have used an unlicensed hdcp for 4 years (she was referred to me only by a friend of friend) and I LOVE her. I seriously can't imagine my child's life without her, so there is hope.
I second the PP who said put him on the waiting lists and see what happens with the hdcp.
Good luck tomorrow at the HD, I hated dragging myself down to that hot, overcrowded purgatory when we were on a COBRA policy a few years ago. :-P
Listen Ashley, I'll make a deal with you. If The Jesus People or The Jews won't take lk, I'll take him. As long as on The Closet Cruise I get a room with a balcony and a hottie to rub my feet (and whatever) after we've been out dancing all night long. K?
Oh, and wine. I'll need lots of wine.
