More History in Color

Here are some more old photographs in color, since so many of us think those are neat.

A closet commenter mentioned these a while back and I've been meaning to post it for all who missed it.

more, yay. I don't recall ever seeing color images from those time periods...ever. It creates a feeling of, almost "un-realness" of the true history. kinda like a "reenactment" of the actual images. You get so used to seeing the various shades of black and white and sepia from back then, but ironically it creates more life-like imagery with the history.

I don't see a link for the pictures...

I agree with anonymous. Very weird to see WWI and II images in color as opposed to the B&W that we're so used to. Thanks for the post.

Amazing. Colour photos from 100+ years ago, yet my childhood from birth to age 8 is recorded in B/W. I was born in 1970, so not that long ago...

(8-17 is on slides...great for resolution, lousy for browsing)

Seriously though, thanks for sharing that link--cool stuff!

I'm so glad you liked the link. I ran across it while browsing that site (very interesting), and thought of you.
