Srsly?

Fox news called Mrs. Michelle Obama "Obama's Baby Mama"??

I know it rhymes and all, but this is absolutely, completely and totally inappropriate. There are no shades of gray here, that's flat out unprofessional, and undoubtedly racist.

To refer to the wife of a presidential candidate as his "Baby Mama"?? To use derogatory ghetto slang to refer to the wife of our first black presidential hopeful? It seems really wrong on a lot of levels, and kind of like a no-brainer on the "is this going to get me in trouble" scale.

We all know I'm not one to scream racist. Last time I did was about the person who said the LeBron Vogue cover was racist. Because it wasn't. But I'm thinking this is.

At the very least, it's proof of an extreme lack of judgment, and confirmation on my theory that whoever is in charge at Fox News secretly wishes they could get a gig over at Fox Reality...or that they all must have been too hung over to make it to class on the day that whole "being objective" thing was taught in journalism class.

It's a mockery and their viewers should be angry. It's disrespectful, and aside from that, if people want to be entertained with phrases like "baby mama" they'll read US Weekly or Perez. Not what should be a reputable news source. Knock it off with the cutesy shit, Fox News. It's not so cute.

You're right, but I did find this comment on some Digg website or something like that...

"To be fair, Michelle Obama referred to Barack as her "baby's daddy" on the night he won his Senate seat in 2004."

THAT is why I don't watch Fox News!!

Absolutely unprofessional - Not to mention racist. I already disliked FOX, now I loathe them.

That reminds me of when I heard about a guy on some national news show - probably Fox News - that asked about the fist bump Barack gave Michelle the other night and called it a terrorist bump or some ridiculous shit like that! Ugh - it disgusts me!

I read about this yesterday, and it just confirms one of my general issues with The Fox. They try too hard - to be witty, hard-hitting, chummy, etc. - and that is why I get annoyed when Hubs wants to watch The Fox. They can't decide on their image, and they try on different masks too frequently for any of them to be believable. Oh, and some of their hosts are rude to "guests," but that's another beef entirely...

I think they were actually poking fun at Michelle Obama, since she has referred to herself as Obama's "baby mama." So unprofessional of a potential first-lady, and it did make me like her a whole lot less. Although, I am a fan of Obama.

I'm thinking heads are going to roll over this one!!

Just another reason I will NOT watch Fox News. They just seem to throw whatever they want out there and sometimes it can be considered legit news and sometimes its someones stupid opinion. I don't know about racist but certainly dumb.

Ugh, "Baby Mama"? What is wrong with them?!
A couple months ago one of our local news casters said "Fizzle the Shnizzle" While interviewing a high schoolers. Now that was just plain funny.
And more than a little pathetic...

Now see, I think if she wants to refer to herself as "baby mama" or him as her "baby daddy" then whatever...she's not a journalist and she's referring to herself.

NOT okay for a news station to call her that, in my opinion, no matter what.

We never watch Fox here - way too conservative for me anyway. This just seals the deal.

Fox Noise has angered me for years. They symbolize for me everything that is wrong with the media, and they take a big part of the responsibility IMO for the dubya being where he is.

There are actually people out there stupid enough to watch it and believe it. The part that scares me is the percentage that thinks it is real news and will think they should go vote for McStain.

I'm with Ashley on this one. If she wants to call herself that, fine. But Fox is supposed to be more professional than that. If it was on while Michelle whatshername is on, they were trying to do a serious political piece, and the headline just makes a total mockery of the process.

Yep. Miss Michelle herself says that repeatedly. It's a bit lame, no?

Regardless of your political stance, Fox news is, ahem, rough.

Damn. I do love me some Fox News. Which is why I so hate to admit that I totally agree with you. Completely inappropriate.

OK, if they're using this term "correctly" then that would mean that she is Obama's mother. A baby mama is the mother of a baby. So, both fox and his wife are not even using the term the way it was intended. Very confusing and inappropriate.

Good old Fox news.

I know this is all 'FREEDOM OF THE PRESS' and all, but does there come a point when it's not a freedom anymore? It's just stupid.

I don't care if she gets up there wearing her best Aunt Jamima outfit. There is no need to make comments like that.

A "grown up" NEWS corp doesn't say that shit.

First time here, and first comment. I totally agree with you.

I'm shocked. And ITA with Ashley...

OMG, my fil watches nothing but Fox News. Not kidding. It has to be on at all times. No matter where he is. It drives me batty.

Damn I don't want you to kill the cat.

"Baby mama" is not cutesy shit. It is ghetto slang and an attempt to be current or something. It is disgusting and disrespectful.

Oh I'm Mrs. Ashley and very pleased to meet you.

Okay, that's really, REALLY disgusting.

Nice comment "me": "There are actually people out there stupid enough to watch it and believe it."

So they said something stupid so that makes anyone who watches the entire channel STUPID?! See IMO, anyone who makes a comment that vague & general is stupid :)
