You don't have to be funny. I think it's impressive you can blog at all--the liferaft would be looking really good to me for several weeks. That's just normal--don't pressure yourself to stop grieving before you are ready. We will still be here, and we understand.
I know that you can't replace Heidi Louise. But maybe now is the perfect time for Evangeline.
I have had to put a couple dogs to sleep in my time. And I know there will never be another like your lost loved one. But the distraction of a new puppy might be just what you and your family need right now.
I really don't want this to sound like I'm fliply suggesting, just get a new dog. I don't mean that. But if a new dog can bring you some happiness, it doesn't mean that you didn't love and don't still miss Heidi Louise.
I was thinking the same thing about Evangeline, but I didn't want you to think I was suggesting you "replace" Heidi Louise.
In a weird way, it reminds me of the saying my father-in-law told my husband before he met me, "The best way to get over someone is to get under someone else." That may sound harsh, but I mean it in the nicest way possible.
Take me with you! Let's tie our life rafts together and float down a river somewhere. We can have a floating cooler tied to the rafts, with some nice frosty beverages. Seriously. Can we do this please?
