NLP:RD Rewrite

Okay, we knew there would be some growing pains. After all, it was hastily thrown together, we started on a Wednesday and Influenza08 hit immediately thereafter. We didn't get that first week to fine tune.

Couple of problems so far with NLP:RD:

1. Not enough drinking. Suds it Up Saturday isn't enough, and many of you agree. I think there needs to be more fun built right into the NLP:RD, because fun is important too.

2. Many of you have difficulty interpreting NLP:RD and applying it effectively to your own lives. Some of you are way too literal. Some of you are way too motivated.

Okay, the new New Life Plan: Rough Draft:

Market Yourself and Meal Planning Mondays. People, don't tell me you don't have any reason to market yourselves. You can find a way to apply this. Whether it be painting your toe nails for your husband, going around commenting on some blogs to advertise your own, offering to host a playdate for your mom's group, something as far as putting yourself out there. Also, commenting here with your blog link and/or etsy store or website counts too.

People that can't find something to do are missing the point of NLP:RD. The beauty is that it is very easy to morph things to fit in to whatever category. Just do something you wouldn't do if you didn't have to.

Meal planning would ideally mean planning and making a grocery list for a week+ worth of meals, but could also mean going to one of those make your own frozen dinner places or advising your husband on what you'd like for dinner. Whatever you manage to check off the list for the day.

The suggested drink reward would be either Merlot or Margaritas.

Tidy and Talk it Up Tuesday. On Tuesday we will focus on general cleaning duty and talking to our friends. Yes, internet friends count.

The suggested drink was Tequila, but ever since that time in that basement under that club in Cancun...I just cannot stomach Tequila. Woo-eee. We'd be having Barf it Up Wednesday if I followed that suggestion. But feel free, if that's how you roll.

Work it out and Wine it Up Wednesday. Wednesdays we will focus on doing at least one thing we are really dreading and need to check off the list. A scary phone call, opening the bills, doing the budget, something like that. Major organization projects like cleaning out the junk drawer count too.

Then you get wine!

Trash Terminating Thirsty Thursday...clean out some trash, do some purging, delete some files on your computer, and reward yourself with a drink...or three!

Photography, Family Time & Fancy Drink Friday. On Fridays we will have some sort of discussion or something (hopefully) about photography, but you all need to figure out something that interests you or that you would like to do for yourself, like read more, learn to knit, scrapbook. It should be some sort of "further yourself" sort of thing.

Then you have to spend time with your family. Friends count too, if you happen to wrangle a Girl's Night Out on a Friday. That works.

BUT, you get to try a fancy drink you've been meaning to try (or just enjoy an old favorite). I'm excited about this one because I have all sorts of cocktail recipe books and I rarely get around to trying something new. That will be fun.

AND on Fridays, I'm going to try to pick one of the posts from the last week and visit the blogs of everyone who commented, so I can get back in the swing of checking out everyone else's blogs. So for me maybe it will be Photography, Family time, Find Friends & Fancy Drink Friday. That could be interesting!

Also, I'm going to try to be better about reminding you about NLP:RD in the morning (although really, you should be giving it a quick thought the night before). I'm also going to put a link in the sidebar, in case I ever can't be here for some odd reason, like death or vacation.

Sound good? Are we still onboard with this plan? Do we have any NLP:RD questions or suggestions?

We can do it. We can be the Women We've Always Wanted To Be. We may have to adjust what we thought we always wanted to be a little bit, but all in all, it could be great.

(I need you all to do it with me or I'll quit)

OK-I will do the meal planning, the organizing and definitely the drinking. I refuse to clean or do my laundry although I will pay the maid and the bundles service (under bills). Sound good?

I've been reluctant to put NLP: RD into effect... Mostly bc I'm just lazy like that... But, I'll give it a shot. I'll keep ya posted.

Wahoo! I was feeling like I hadn't followed through on 'Market Yourself Monday' because I am one who didn't think I had anything to 'market.' But, I commented on some blogs that day, some for the first time, so I 'marketed' my blog! Can I get a margarita now? Ah, nevermind, it's too late. I'll just have to wait for wine tomorrow night.

May I suggest adding Martini Monday to the drinking? You can't go wrong with a classic - or one of the 47,000 flavors of martini they have out now. As I'm sure you know, the girlier the better!

Your tequilla story sounds like something we would love to hear about.

I have a really funny tequilla story, my hubs (who was fiance at the time) got way too drunk on it, as we were walking out a door I sorta pushed him a bit to get him going, he fell down some stairs and broke his foot!!

Either a bunch of women will get their lives together or will all become alcoholics.

My Monday is going to be called Medicated Monday. Is that OK? I don't cook, so I don't Meal Plan. Can't do it. Other than that, I'm all over it!

Mojito Mondays for me!! And maybe I'll add Mimosas to my Monday mornings because Mondays are just not fun, so starting them off with a Mimosa may give me more of an incentive to get out of bed!

Today, on Work it out Wednesday, I have to learn to use my hand meter for a shooting assignment and learn to dodge and burn for a Photoshop assignment... any suggestions??

I am so honored that some of my drink suggestions made it in the new NLP:RD. Yay!!!!!

Today: I am going to go pick up some paint samples for our bedroom. I've been putting it off for 8 1/2 years, and today's that day, so it totally counts for WIOW. Really. Me and Sherwin Williams have a date at lunch. I'm going to get samples of Latte and Nomadic Desert.

I prefer Tangueray and Tonic for Tuesday (with a little lime). Much more civilized than tequila.

I'm loving the additions of drinks. I think this is really going to catch fire now! And thanks for the NLP sidebar link...I can only remember Wednesdays and Saturdays, so it'll be nice to have a cheat sheet!

Now that you've incorporated assigned drinks I might be getting on board with this!

Ok, I'm ready to give this a go too. HOWEVER, I'm pissed off you didn't incorporate the "more alcohol" (because you know I would have joined sooner) into the plan until after I went and got myself knocked up.

Yup, on my way to being a "real Mom" at last .;)

Today, I will make the scary call to the bank because my dumbass locked myself out of my online access.

And then I'm wHine it up and sip gingerale.

For Work It Out Wednesday, I'm finally going to tackle my mom's friend's taxes. I've been putting it off for way too long and if I don't just go ahead and do it, I'm going to have to explain to her that I don't like her enough to spend my time on her stuff for FREE. I guess that'll just remain our little secret. Shhh!

I'm totally committed to the drinking part.

love the idea of marketing yourself--in whatever way you want. And making yourself do something that you wouldn't do unless you had too--brilliant!

I am really liking you!

I think you are getting me motivated to NLP:RD myself. I'm eskerred.
