I started reading The Pillars and am having a hard time getting into it. I don't know if I'm too tired to read or if I'm an idiot, because everyone else seems to love it. I'm going to stick with it.
Tho I haven't read the Pillars, I felt exactly the same way when I read the second of the Bridget Jones Diary books (I know that it's not a "quality" read, but I loved it!)I didn't read the last chapter for the longest time because I knew it was the last book and I didn't want to be finished with Bridget and have to say good-bye to her.
I want to read that too...I'm just scared of it's size. I know I shouldn't be because, The Other Boleyn girl, and Queen's Fool didn't seem long enough and that's about 1100 pages if you put them together.
It's so funny, but I'm doing the same thing in an opposite way. I ordered the book about a month ago, along with 4 others. It was The Pillars that I wanted when I placed the order. Now, I'm avoiding it. I look at it on my dresser everyday and even pick it up sometimes, but i am torturing myself by NOT reading it. I can't wait to read it. But I force my way through all 4 of the other books first. It is the carrot at the end of the stick, but I'm not sure WHAT the reward is actually for. I fear starting it because I fear finishing it. I was desperately sad when The Other Boleyn Girl ended and I missed it for a long time afterwards. ( I am super excited about the movie that opens next week!)

I read the first chapter of the book but can't pull myself to get into it. Inspire us who have put it down, I want to like it.
