Delayed Ending

I have enjoyed The Pillars of the Earth so much that I don't want it to end.

So I just refuse to read the last chapter.

I would have been done with it 2 weeks ago if I hadn't come up with this brilliant way to make it last.

Ashley,

I started reading The Pillars and am having a hard time getting into it. I don't know if I'm too tired to read or if I'm an idiot, because everyone else seems to love it. I'm going to stick with it.

Tho I haven't read the Pillars, I felt exactly the same way when I read the second of the Bridget Jones Diary books (I know that it's not a "quality" read, but I loved it!)I didn't read the last chapter for the longest time because I knew it was the last book and I didn't want to be finished with Bridget and have to say good-bye to her.

I want to read that too...I'm just scared of it's size. I know I shouldn't be because, The Other Boleyn girl, and Queen's Fool didn't seem long enough and that's about 1100 pages if you put them together.

I read the first chapter of the book but can't pull myself to get into it. Inspire us who have put it down, I want to like it.

It's so funny, but I'm doing the same thing in an opposite way.
I ordered the book about a month ago, along with 4 others. It was The Pillars that I wanted when I placed the order.
Now, I'm avoiding it. I look at it on my dresser everyday and even pick it up sometimes, but i am torturing myself by NOT reading it. I can't wait to read it. But I force my way through all 4 of the other books first. It is the carrot at the end of the stick, but I'm not sure WHAT the reward is actually for.
I fear starting it because I fear finishing it.
I was desperately sad when The Other Boleyn Girl ended and I missed it for a long time afterwards. ( I am super excited about the movie that opens next week!)
