The New Life Plan

I just realized that I cannot possibly have a new Life Plan without a brand new Life Plan Notebook.

None of the 86 notebooks I have here will suffice and looseleaf paper would be a recipe for failure. I don't want to do it on Word because then I just never look at it again (my hard drive is a jumbled mess of my bizarre lists and plans, it is so insane it is not even funny) and the trial ran out on that awesome Plan Plus software and I don't have $70 to invest in my Life Plan at the present moment.

Clearly I need to go to Staples and get a (fancy) notebook for my Life Plan.

And a new pen. Probably several, just in case.

And a special file box for my Life Plan Notebook.

And some folders for the box, some decorative ones, because my Life Plan will definitely need folders.

Oh and more tape for my label machine because I don't like my messy handwriting to be on the folders.

Yes, a new Life Plan will probably take a while to get up and running and of course there will be an initial investment involved.

I will put it on the short term list of things to do.

Ashley, my friend, you need yourself a brand new TrapperKeeper!! (do they even still make those??)

They do still make them! I got one for my last Life Plan notebook that is currently retired because it just didn't work out.

I regret getting an orange one, not sure what I was thinking there.

There is nothing better than a trip to the office supply store. I think I heard somewhere that office supplies are an aphrodisiac. ;) I'm addicted to calendars, pens, and Post-It notes.

Maybe a dumb ?, but what is a life plan notebook exactly used for?

Unfortunately, I know exactly what you're talking about when you say you couldn't possible put a life plan together without a spanking new notebook. I feel like my house is filled with things to help me get organized and yet, I never seem to get there.

But there is just something about being the first one to use the pen, isn't there?

Yes that is a dumb question...It's a notebook for your life plan. Like duh!
I kid, I kid! ;)

I am addicted to planners, notebooks, and especially ink pens. My man threatens to leave me if I get another (yet he never really does). I think I'm looking for the PERFECT notebook or planner. Then the rest of my life will fall into place.

I think you need some of these pretty little expensive notebooks from momAgenda. The more the notebook cost the more productive you'll be right?

Ashley, sometimes I think you're my long lost twin. I think we are, at least, living mirror image lives. Except you have that whole photography thing going whereas I do more of the sitting-on-my-butt-NOT-taking-pictures thing...

I could have written your last two posts; I go through the same things with my food and kids. I would PAY to eat an entire sandwich on my own. Bring that $100 over here, I'll match it, and then we'll run to Burger King or an equally naughty place, and eat bad, bad, yummy food together til we get sick, and bitch about how the kids ruined our girlish figures. Which they TOTALLY did.

As for this post - I have been pondering this very issue, this "notebook need" issue which I, too, have (along with the need for new pens/boxes/folders to accompany said notebook)... surely it will allow me to restructure all in my life which needs restructuring. I think I feel a trip to Staples coming on, myself...ok, maybe Target. Nah, fuck it, we got our taxes back, Staples it is...Keep us posted on this new plan, I know you will.

They are building a Staples within walking distance of my house. All the neighbors were yapping on and on about "big box stores" ruining their vision of our neighborhood...but, c'mon! We live in freaking suburbia! It was only a matter of time before that pasture got developed. I will be able to *walk* to get pens! And binder clips! And Sharpies!

I totally understand this particular OCD-like tendancy. ITA.

Another Doppleganger feeling your pain. At least it's less expensive than when you decide you need a new exercise plan--the bags, the clothes, the water bottles. Everything must be just so or the whole thing fall apart at the seams.

Hold out for the right notebook though. Last year I did a new life plan in a hideous red faux snake covered journal--it was all they had. The first entry was the last. Beware.

I only do (some of) the stuff on my lists if they are handwritten in chicken scratch on weird, bitty pieces of random paper. Go figure.
Btw, you can still get Trapper Keepers on eBay...I've looked and actually contemplated.

I, too, LOVE going to the office supply store. Target also has pretty spiral notebooks. You'd love stuff from www.seejanework.com.

I'm totally obsessed with office supplies! Staples is like a grown-up Toys R Us!
