The Post Below This One

took me all day long. Notice that it wasn't even technically published on Friday. I stillhavemajorspacebarissues andI'm getting tired oftrying sohard.

Big Kid woke up barfing around midnight and juststopped. I have been onbucketandsheetwashingduty.

You know what really sucks about being a mom?

Motherhood doesn't automatically come with the knowledge of how to clean up vomit. You lookand think "Damn, thatisareallybigmess" andrealizethatyouaretheonlypersonwhoisgoingtocleanitup andyoudon'tevenknowwheretobegin.

Fuck.Thisisnotgood.

That sucks! Cleaning up a night of puke is the worst! Don"t you wish you could tells the kids to just clean it up themselves?

Look into a replacement keyboard like others have mentioned and write it off as a business expense. Then keep it out of LK's reach.

2 words- water hose.

Sushi vomit is the worst.

Hope today is better.

Aw, that's no fun at all. Hope he gets better soon...and that no one else gets it!

I think the best way to clean it all up would be to get a gigantic garbage bag, put all things contaminated in it, and throw it away. Then you get to go shopping to replace all things puked on. This way, you don't have to completely dread the days when the kidlets throw up, because it means buying new stuff. And getting out of the house...alone- cause puking kids can't go shopping.
Just a thought.

Thanks for all the hard work on the last post! I'm sorry it was followed up by your kid barfing. I don't really have any tips for you on cleaning it up. :(

I am sorry for you,,the puke I mean. I am sorry for your computer..but let me say I love your baby toes picture. It probably wouldn't be near as cool on a 11 year olds toes huh? Go get some suds and try to have a good day.

I can almost never be motivated to comment, but I feel so bad for you that I will actually make the effort.

I am so sorry about your computer and the puking. I love your site and your stories--you make me laugh every day.

If I only had a dime for every bit of vomit, even a penny I would be set. I unfortunatly was blessed with a gaggy kid. You never know what will make him gag and vomit, it could be the mashed potatoes that dad forced you to try, it could be the poop on your shoe that he stepped in. He is SOOO bad when he is sick with a cough or stuffy nose so bad that we have began putting "drop clothes" beside his bed. I have never seen a kid that coughs and can start vomiting 3days worth of food.

The little one woke up and vomited in her bed yesterday so I was also on sheet duty. It sucks!! Spit up was much easier I think.

I HATE THROW UP. It's just not right that we have to deal with those kinds of things. Most of the time, Mr. AFRo will get up and help take care of things, but he usually gets the kid and I'm left with the mess.

Hang in there Ashley. You will make it through this.

I've been without internet for 2 days and I cannot believe all the stuff I've missed!

That kid needs to get to school fast. The first pic of the computer made me gasp. And sorry about the puke.

Thanks for the photo lesson. I love photography myself. A few years ago, I was pretty steady at taking others family photos and occassionaly I do some assignments for a local paper. But I don't take pics as often as I should and the last time I had a good paying gig, I was not happy with them. Mostly because the lighting at the place sucked but also because I hadn't taken any in a long time.

Bless you and Big Kid. I are sorry.

It isn't fair that Suds it Up Saturday was spent doing puke duty washing rather than the other things you were inspired to clean.

When you have time (it is not pressing, of course please tend to yourself and your fambly first)- I have a question on the NLP:RD posted on my blog.

Take your time.

Give BK lactinex granuals. They sell them at the pharmacy at Walgreens/CVS (b/c they must be refrigerated). Just give him one pack in some Sprite, etc. It helps to re-establish the good bacteria in his digestive track and stomach. It will minimize the time he has an upset belly. Good luck. Prayers for that sweet boy!

Just because it took you all day to write the photography post does NOT mean you can neglect us TODAY!

I hope he's feeling better. Molly has a cold again, too. I think it's her second this year. Fuck. What am I going to do with that kid. If it's not one thing, it's two. ;-)

Doesn't it just feel like that most of the time?

Loved your long post, btw. I think that being a writer and being a photographer go hand in hand. Eric (www.thelastseason.com) took the most amazing photos of our kids, just for fun. I think that you & him would get along great.

Oh no! Are you sick now too? Hope everyone in the Ashley House feels better soon.
